Accenture was awarded a 5-year contract by Vattenfall, one of the largest electricity and heating retailers and manufacturers. The scope of work is to completely transform the human resource department into a single digital and collaborative platform, covering end-to-end HR processes.
Accenture’s responsibility is to deliver full scale HR as a service platform which will also encompass a cloud based platform by SAP® called SuccessFactors®. This application will collaborate other systems like ServiceNow® (a service management tool), a vendor management system by SAP – Fieldglass® and Concur® a travel and expense management system. These solutions will be deployed on a cloud platform to provide the cost benefit as well as leverage technology to implement state-of-the-art systems for a company like Vattenfall, says Stefan Dohler, CFO at Vattenfall.
Accenture will cover the whole nine yards of the HR function during this transformation process, incorporating all employees of Vattenfall. The transformation will cover areas like contingent work management, performance management, employee training, benefits and rewards management and payroll which will involve third party services and also take care of pension administration in Germany.
Accenture will work in close partnership with Vattenfall to create a globalized design of the entire HR process bringing all HR functions to a single unified system and give an exceptional user experience to the user group. The project will include three key components: robotic process automation, analytics, and artificial intelligence systems to create a completely cohesive system. Dohler says this type of a strategic partnership will increase their competitiveness and allow them to focus on core business operations.
