Triplebyte opened its New York office in late June to help boost operations due to an increase in the number of companies on the East Coast who wanted to optimize their hiring processes for highly competent engineers.
The recruiting startup started work last year with Y Combinator-backed startups, but now look to move their focus to companies such as Apple and Facebook.
As a result, to date, Triplebyte has been used by 12,000 engineers who have taken the technical test with 2,000 of them receiving interviews and 15% of those interviewed being hired by tech companies, according to CEO Harj Taggar.
The process is designed so the candidates can be measured by technical ability instead of traditional and mostly inefficient criteria such as prior jobs or alma mater. Triplebyte focuses its screenings and interviews on matching the hiring company’s necessities more than its expectations, thus allowing a better match and a more efficient hiring process.
As the company is open for business in New York, Triplebyte aims to expand its range of operations to include finance companies and will soon begin working with Bridgewater and Jane Street.“Our plan is to be super-selective in who we work with,” Triplebyte CEO Harj Taggar told TechCrunch.
