The live streaming video platform said that in her new role, Jhaveri is responsible for growing Twitch’s brand and coming up with new ways that the Twitch community can experience content. She oversees global marketing and communications and will report directly to CEO Emmett Shear.
Before joining Twitch, Jhaveri was Twitter’s head of global consumer marketing from 2013 to August 2016, where she was responsible for brand, growth and consumer marketing programs, channels, and experiences. Jhaveri also previously worked at Facebook for three years and at Microsoft for seven years. At Facebook, she led consumer brand strategy and management and mobile product marketing. At Microsoft, she was in charge of consumer marketing and communications teams for products such as Windows and Office. She began her career as a management consultant with AT Kearney, and also led marketing teams at Dell.
In a statement regarding her new role, Jhaveri said, “Twitch’s primary strength has been looking to its community to help shape the direction of the brand. This has led to a lot of compelling emerging content beyond gaming. Given this constant evolution, my goal is to ensure we shine a light on all of the incredible content that continues to redefine the Twitch experience, as well as our extensive roadmap of products.”
According to Variety, Jhaveri replaces Matthew DiPietro, who is taking on another role at the company. Details about DiPietro’s new role is not yet known.
