Jude McColgan has been named the new CEO of Localytics, a leading mobile app marketing, automation, and engagement platform. McColgan will replace Raj Aggarwal, co-founder and current CEO of the company, who is expecting McColgan to lead Localytics into its next phase of growth. The top-level hire comes as Localytics achieves the major milestone of being cash flow positive.
Regarding McColgan, Aggarwal said, “Since our founding eight years ago, Localytics has become the leading mobile engagement platform for enterprises. As we continued to grow rapidly and achieved cash flow break-even, I felt the time was right to bring aboard an experienced leader of Jude’s caliber to amplify our efforts and take Localytics to the next stage of growth.”
McColgan has nearly 20 years of experience in the enterprise software space and mobile industry. Prior to Localytics, he held leadership roles at Oracle, where he spent nearly 10 years focused on enterprise software; TomTom, where he was Group Vice President for Mobile; Nuance Communications, where he served as Vice President and General Manager and led the Mobile Division; and Avast Software, where he served as the President of Mobile.
In a statement regarding his appointment, McColgan stated he was excited and honored to take on the role of CEO at Localytics and build on the work of Aggarwal and his team. “Localytics has carved out a strong leadership position with a great technology platform to help customers solve their biggest challenges – engaging with their mobile customers,” McColgan stated. “I know, I was a customer. I look forward to helping the company further innovate its mobile engagement platform and continue supporting customers’ mobile marketing strategies.”
As for Aggarwal, he isn’t going anywhere. Instead, he looks “forward to remaining actively involved in the company and working alongside Jude and the team to drive growth and market leadership while fulfilling our mission.”
Localytics is used by some of the world’s leading apps to drive mobile engagement. Brands include CVS, the Weather Channel, Comcast, Hulu, Staples, and HSN. As of today, Localytics drives mobile engagement for more than 37,000 apps covering over 2.7 billion devices.
