The world’s largest ticket marketplace has a new vice president and chief marketing officer after StubHub, today, named eBay veteran Olivier Ropars to the position. Ropars new role lands him in pretty familiar territory since StubHub is an eBay company.
After spending six years at eBay, Ropars has extensive global marketing experience in retail and e-commerce. He began his career at eBay as the senior director of eBay’s European mobile shopping business. Most recently, he was the head of global performance marketing where he was instrumental in helping to drive significant global growth over a three-year period.
Prior to his time at eBay, Ropars held various roles as a strategist and growth leader at companies in the technology and retail sector, including McKinsey & Company and Motorola Inc. He is a graduate of UTC Compiegne in France and earned an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
Regarding his appointment, StubHub President Scott Cutler said Ropars would be key to building a global marketing engine that would help expand the company’s growth and reach throughout the world. “With extensive international experience and a proven ability to drive results, Olivier is the perfect fit for our organization as we innovate in our mission to connect fans to inspiring live event experiences across any screen – anytime, anywhere – worldwide,” Cutler stated.
