Marketing Week, a leading UK magazine for marketing jobs, marketing news, opinion and information, is set to bring back its 12-week marketing course in September. The course, which is taught by marketing professor and Marketing Week columnist Mark Ritson, aims to inspire anyone involved in marketing by offering tools they need to become more confident and effective.
A description of the course reads:
The Marketing Week Mini MBA in Marketing is a CPD accredited course that has been designed and taught to mirror the MBA core marketing course offered at the world’s leading business schools. It will give you the tools you need to become a more confident, more effective and more inspired marketer.
So, whether you’re looking to refresh your marketing skills, take the next step in your career or up-skill your entire team, the Mini MBA is the perfect way to fit MBA level learning around your working life.
450 people took the course last year, and over 520 have already taken the course this year, with most participants giving it first-rate reviews. 97% said they were very satisfied with the course and 99% praised the content for being ‘excellent’ or ‘good’.
The course consists of 12 modules (lasting 12 weeks) in areas such as market orientation, market research, targeting, product development, and distribution. Each of the modules is accompanied by a reading list and participants are offered a regular live Q&A with Ritson. The video lectures and readings are then followed by an exam which is designed to test everything learned.
In this year’s first intake, 15 people earned more than 80% in the exam at the end of the course, thus being awarded an A with distinction by Ritson. Among these high-achieving participants were PayPoint marketing manager Nicky Atkins, HarveyDavid content manager Jo Duncan, Omobono MD Alex Luff, YouGov client services director Ewan Tait, and ITV commercial marketing manager Brittany Turner.
About the course, Turner said, “This was the first professional marketing course I’ve taken and I wasn’t sure what to expect, but from the very beginning the course was completely engaging. You could plan your workload around the online modules and I found each topic really enjoyable – Mark truly brought them to life.
“I’d fully recommend taking the exam as it’s a brilliant way to test your knowledge and I’ve come out of the course feeling much more confident and inspired,” continued Turner.
