It is a known fact that only 2 out of the 3 richest people on the planet are actively engaged in philanthropy.
Microsoft founder Bill Gates has for the last decade been actively contributing his time, money, and resources and has made many significant changes in the lives of the poor. Warren Buffet, the founder of Berkshire Hathaway, has not only donated a large sum of money to the Gates Foundation, but his family engages in charitable activities.
But, they aren’t the only ones. The second richest person on the planet has now called out for help, not for himself but for others. That’s right! Jeff Bezos – the founder and CEO of Amazon – has reached out to his 224,000+ followers on Twitter asking for suggestions on how he can put some of his money to good philanthropic causes.

Jeff’s philanthropic desires arise as he inches closer to becoming the richest person in the world. With a net worth of $82.8 billion, he is at the No. 2 spot, second only to Bill Gates.
Jeff’s parents, Jackie and Mike Bezos, run the Bezos Family Foundation, where Jeff’s siblings are directors. This foundation deals mainly with education. In his lifetime, Jeff has contributed $100 million worth of gifts to charity, mostly in the field of science. However, looking at a very optimistic future for Amazon and the possibility that Bezos might outrank Gates to become the richest person in the world, it is obvious that he would want to contribute towards the welfare of mankind.
Whether Bezos will take his followers’ advice or come up with something out of the box to make a change remains something to anticipate. Until then, we can only be grateful that the people who have resources, power, and influence are using it to make the world a better place for all people to live.
