If you’re a big tech firm solving problems and providing solutions every day or just another high school kid learning to code with a vision to change the world, the one thing you want most is to have people download your app. However, with thousands of apps on the market and constant competition to be the best, the only thing that can really help you succeed is visibility: the more people notice your app, the more clicks (and downloads) it attracts.
Here are a few ways to get your app noticed:
#1: App Store Optimization (ASO)
Just like we use Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to increase traffic on our websites, similarly App Store Optimization increases the number of clicks on your app. However, it is not as easy as SEO is. You can learn techniques to generate webpages with successful SEO, but the Play Store and App Store do not disclose their search algorithms. Thus, one great way to go about this is by observing what the really successful apps do and try to replicate it with your app. From giving your app the right name to crafting the perfect description, if done correctly, you can implement ASO and see great results.
#2: Reviews and Ratings
A higher number of reviews and increased rating would really accelerate your app’s ranking in the search results. For this, the obvious place to start would be family and friends, and if you have a good budget, you can contract this job to app reviewing sites and see soaring results.
#3: Using the right colors and codes
The icon for your app and the interface must exhibit bright, positive, or contrasting colors in order to keep users engaged. Apart from that, make sure the interface is extremely user friendly and easy to understand and explore.
#4: Use the media right
Media here means both print and online. As for print, talking to industry experts and getting their feedback about the app or having their reviews published is a really great way to spread the word. As for social media, an active presence across all the popular platforms and collaboration with influencers should do the trick. Your app could be the one-stop shop for every solution, but it needs to be noticed in order to grow.
Keeping these pointers in mind will be sure to help you rocket your way to success in app stores.
